Rhubarb pie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rubarb
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbps flour, rounding
  • 6 tbsp water
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp butter
  • nutmeg, dash
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

 

Mix ingredients together, pour into prepared crust.

 

Bake for about 1 hour.


History

Mitzi's favorite pie that her grandmother made. It was different enough from others that she had tasted, so she just loved it. It has a custard filling and a meringue top that Mitzi fell in love with even as a kid.
