Brown ground beef, drain. Add back to skillet, saute with onion. Add water, ketchup, salt, chili powder, mustard, liquid smoke and horseradish. Simmer until thickened.
Serve over torn bread, or on a bun.
A recipe that Granny picked up along the way, probably from her days as a telephone operator at the Glenwood, Iowa, telephone company before she met Papa. Kids really like this recipe because it's tasty and easy to eat.
