Apple crisp

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 7 or 8 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 squeeze lemon
  •  

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

 

Blend together 1 cup flour, 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup margarine. Use a pastry cutter to make small crumbles. Make sure everything is well incorporated.

 

Peel and slice apples, place in flat baking dish. Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon and lemon over top of apples.

 

Lightly sprinkle topping over apples.

Bake for about 1 hour.

Granny, grandmother Agler and Aunt Geneva Maxwell worked together to develop this recipe. It's a never fail recipe, and it's better than pie according to Mitzi because it can feed a big group of people.
